John Willenborg
John joins Patrick & Associates after almost thirty years in the insurance industry. In 2008 John joined American Westbrook Insurance Services as their CFO. While there, he was extensively involved in American Westbrook’s acquisition of seven insurance agencies (revenues growing from $6 Million to $19 Million) and participated in the due diligence review of each acquisition.
In December 2014 American Westbrook Insurance Agency was sold to Assured Partners. John took an active role in providing financial information to support the sale. Patrick & Associates represented American Westbrook in their sale to Assured Partners.
Prior to American Westbrook, John began his insurance brokerage career at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. During his 17 years at Gallagher, he served in various roles, wrapping up his career there as Regional Controller of the Chicago area. John was instrumental in the successful consolidation of seven Chicago area Gallagher offices. In addition to Gallagher’s office consolidations, John played a key role in the consolidation of five insurance agencies acquired by the Chicago area Gallagher Region during his tenure there.
His business career commenced at A.C. Nielsen Company’s Northbrook, Illinois location. John spent 16 years in the Accounting Department holding various supervisory and management positions.
John received Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from Southern Illinois University. He served on the Board of Directors for the Irish Children’s Fund and for the Fair Meadows Community Association.
